2007/2008 Challenges

Rotterdam Marathon, 13th April 2008

Kat Peters

I have decided to run the Rotterdam Marathon on the 13 April 2008. I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for this charity, Compassionate Friends. It is a charity close to my heart as you were very supportive for my partner and her family when her 21 year old brother Liam was killed in a car crash on the 16 November 2005. This support continued when her 32 year old cousin Donna died of breast cancer a few months later in January 2006.

You are a very important charity to a lot of people and I wish to support you as much as I can. I am raising money through the justgiving website and I have raised £250 so far. Great North Run, 30th September 2007

Steve Scully

Steve is an old friend of TCF and in his role of Emergency Planning Officer for Kent he regularily puts people in touch with TCF. Last year Steve ran the Flora London Marathon and raised over Ł1500 for us. This year he is running the BUPA Great North Run and hoping to raise in excess of his last Marathon. Sydney Harbour Bridge

Christine Worne, who has a fear of heights, and her husband Michael are climbing the Sydney Bridge on the 15 th November 2007. They are doing this in memory of their son Richard who they lost 4 years ago aged 23 years.

Highlander George Grant

I am Jason Chant's Uncle George and I intend to walk from Southampton to John O'Groats in his memory. My sister has asked me to do this walk in aid of TCF, which has been a key to the family's survival through their enduring grief after the death of their eldest son Jason.
